Black Dog Skiing Co. Print- Ryan Fowler

Ryan Fowler Black Dog Skii

Note: I’m working on setting up some FB app stuff so, sorry that my ‘like’ button isn’t on this post… :\

It’s been a while since we’ve posted a painting that we’ve picked up from HomeGoods. I think this one is worthy of sharing because 1) I love the white stroke around the Black Dog headline and 2) I like to imagine our very uncoordinated dog, that likes to box people and small animals with her paws, skiing down a really snowy, wintery slope.

Even though she would be snowboarding if she was really my dog…

Sorry for the bad quality here but there was a lamp reflecting off the print because it’s slightly shiny. It’s a fantastical one by Ryan Fowler– you can check out his website for customized designs/prints with a bunch of other ones just like this.

Since we have a winter theme going on in the master bedroom, it’s likely we’ll pick up the polar bear print too. :)

Abstract Artwork

This is some swag we’ve been sitting on for a while. Once we got our Cherry Blossom artwork, we decided we needed something else that would compliment the colors of the room. As I said before, we do have some darker accent walls in the condo, as well as some light greens.

We found this in HomeGoods (you will hear this often, as it’s less than 2 miles away) and had to pick it up. There’s tons of new stuff we found, but I’ll update if/when we buy them. Sorry for the quality, I tried to get this a few times but couldn’t focus properly.

This one was only $49.95, and it’s also a canvas reprint. I have no idea what it is, just some abstract pretty blues, light greens and whites. Goes with everything so perfectly.

Here’s a picture of the two paintings together in the dining area. Again… this picture is really not the greatest quality. Apparently condoSWAG needs to use something other than an iPhone :) You’ll be able to tell how large the artwork is in comparison to the wine rack we have.

Hack: Vizio VSB200 HD Speaker Bar

Welcome back! I DO have a [rather large] list of swag to post up, so I’ll start with the new speaker bar that we installed.

The other day we went over to CompUSA (yes, it still exists down here) and managed to snag an awesome Vizio VSB200 HD speaker bar for only $69.

We had to get kind of DIY-ish with this because, as you know, we put in the custom focal wall TV mount a few weeks ago. We also picked up some Denka Curtain Wires from IKEA– and as I’m sure you deduced, they’re really for hanging curtains.

So why do we need these for a speaker bar, you ask? We decided to get creative.

We couldn’t necessarily mount the speaker bar directly to the butcher block that we hacked for our focal wall (because the place where the brackets secured wasn’t the right length) so we had to find some way to get around it.

We took the Denka Curtain Wires and mounted that directly to the butcher block. From there, we ran the curtain wire through the brackets and fastened it on the other side (by mounting the other Denka Curtain Wire piece).

To do this though, we had to take the TV off the mount. It was so tight that we couldn’t shimmy it in without the extra leeway. That’s a sign of a good DIY project- when all the pieces fit perfectly together.

Aaaaaand…. VOILA! The final result. That didn’t result in fingers getting cut off, or holes in the wall. I give us a +1 for this. :)

Cherry Blossom Artwork

Hi. We has new condo swag. :)

We found this pretty awesome artwork of a cherry blossom painting that was reprinted directly on canvas. It’s full of rich reds, whites, browns with a little splash of yellow. I really love the purpley hue in the background and it compliments the color of our walls and ties in everything.

We found this in HomeGoods for $59.00. I’m sure you’re glad I told you that but I’m also sure you’ll probably think it’s useless since no two HomeGoods carry the same items. A little cruel of me, right?

Maybe you can make a HomeGoods scavenger hunt out of it. :)

Thoughts on this? Are the colors too rich for your taste?
